The KTM Rallye Replica 690 will only be built on request and is based on the all new developed 690ccm one cylinder engine. It is improved to run with less vibration & also provides much better torque throughout the full RPM range. At the same time, the weight of the engine could be lowered by 3Kg and the total weight of the bike by 8Kg. This was achieved by use of a frame built from tubes, similar to the KTM 950 Adventure and Super Enduro models.

Ergonomic petrol tanks and a slim built seat allow a better handling of the bike. The newly designed farings provide the bike with a higher topspeed and a more stable handling on the front end.

It is expected, that the factory riders will race the new bike at the 2007 Dakar. Tests have been run during the Rallye Brasil ( rider Cyril Despres ), who finished first. Another appearance of the bike is expected during the UAE Desert Challenge 2006.
